
Madu is the co-founder of Chocolate Docs with classmate Jessica Green, serving as virtual mentors to under-represented minorities who want to pursue a career in medicine. Pinto is also a member of the Student National Medical Association. She works with residents of New Hope Housing in Houston to address preventable illness and promote wellness through health habits. Pinto is a 2018-19 Albert Schweitzer Fellow. The six-week program allowed participants to engage with a community health center and PCLP mentors in leadership training, team-based project activities and healthcare service delivery. Pinto and Madu received the scholarships after serving as members of the NMF Primary Care Leadership Program.
